| and has grown to over 100 members, catering for the disciplines of dressage, show jumping and hacking. The club hosts internal member and open competition events and training clinics, providing a safe, relaxed and fun competition and learning environment for riders of all skill levels from beginners to advanced level. We have a sports development philosophy of continuous improvement and foster a safe learning environment for riders to development their riding and horse management skills. To complement the rider development opportunities within the club, we host two events each month of the club calendar, alternating between dressage and show jumping with training and open competitions in each discipline. We also host two hack shows per year in summer and winter. Cedar Grove and District Riding Club constantly strives to improve facilities and services to club members. In 2010 we implemented an ambitious Facilities Plan which delivered a new kitchen for the club house, new equipment storage shed, post and rail round yard and biosecurity yards, a concreted wash bay and various improvements to the existing club facilities. We also acquired a new ride on mower, brush cutter and bunker rake for arena maintenance. Facility developments and capital equipment purchases were funded via financial support of Logan City Council, successful grant applications and club fundraising. Suggestions from members for the Facilities Plan are welcome. Please contact the committee with your input. Management: Cedar Grove and District Riding Club functions under the umbrella of Equestrian Australia (EA) National and Equestrian Queensland (EQ) State Constitutions. The club is managed by an enthusiastic and pro-active Executive committee and our events are managed by our discipline specific committees for Dressage, Show Jumping and Hacking. Facilities: Cedar Grove and District Riding Club enjoys some of the best club facilities in the area. We have two competition grade sand dressage arena, a fully fenced, floodlit training arena and a fenced 20 metre round yard. Additionally, we have a large, fenced area for hacking and show jumping and a small cross country course. Horse facilities include 18 yards, two separate biosecurity/stallion yards and a concrete wash bay. The club house was fully renovated in 2010 with a new kitchen and many improvements to our meeting room, storage and first aid areas and toilets. Membership: Membership with the Cedar Grove and District Riding Club, entitles you to access to the club grounds and all facilities every day of the year except on competition days. On event days, you must nominate to compete to be allowed access to the competition areas (arenas and show jumping area). We provide a fun, relaxed and collaborative learning environment and a great place to improve your skills and compete in the Olympic disciplines. In 2011, a comprehensive Members Handbook has been published to assist current and new members in gaining the most benefit from their membership and as a reference guide on competing at our events. Printed copies are available for $5.00 or electronic copies are free to all members. We publish a monthly newsletter and hold club meetings on the second Wednesday of every month.
